Satan's counterfeits always offer quick relief. God often tells us to wait, but we want our desires to be fulfilled now. Many of our promises from God are for heaven, but we want fulfillment here on earth. We want the pain to stop now. We want relief from the frustration of not having all the answers. We want something to fill the emptiness and someone who will let us do it our way. So we find false gods that will give us what we want. Even though it is only temporary, the fix is sufficient to keep us coming back for more. Eventually, through, our comfort and relief turn into our worst nightmares. Serving God, on the other hand, sometimes requires challenges and painful circumstances but the inner joy we feel now and the eternal blessing that are promised make true worship the better choice.
